Another Drunken Night On The Town Written by: Jeff Sheridan, Andy Reid
Chorus Oh NO, Oh No I did it again, another drunken night on the town I know it’s a sin drinking whiskey again, the suns coming up and I’m going down Its my first day at work and the boss is a jerk, I’d love to tell him off But I can’t pay the rent if I’m out getting bent, so I’ll bide my time once again Chorus Tomorrows my wedding day and I think I should stay out of temptations reach Left my bride at the church standing out on the lurch saying where the hell have you been Chorus What a welcome relief for I’ve turned a new leaf No more will I frequent the bars I’m sitting out in the park drinking tea until dark Reading volumes of Robert Frost Chorus There’s my lads in the car going down to the bar And they want me to jump in Though I’m having such fun I can stop in for one and be on my way again Chorus
Dance with You Daddy Written by: Jeff Sheridan, Andy Reid
It’s Friday night and we’re staying up late Waiting for the shadow to pass through the gate So happy to see him home safe from the mines We greet him with smiles and arms open wide Chorus I want to dance with you daddy I want to dance with you again I can’t help but miss you You’re my one true friend I wanna sway to the music when you come home from the mines And momma counts the rhythm in ¾ time We’ve long grown up and all moved away The sounds of children’s laughter brings me back to the day We’d sway to the music by the old fireside And momma would count the rhythm in ¾ time Chorus When I’d heard you had grown ill my trusted old friend I thought nothing could hurt you but I saw in the end I held you close in my arms as you faded away I chocked back the tears and I started to say Chorus
Drunk In The Afternoon Written by: Jeff Sheridan, Andy Reid
Chorus Another bloody Irish Canadian drunk in the afternoon Just another bloody Irish Canadian drunk in the afternoon There’s Kevin O’Leary with his pants to the floor Micheal O’Toole getting thrown out the door Another young lad passed out at the table A flirty young blonde who is willing and able Chorus The boys from the beer league are telling their stories Of days gone by and forgotten glories As the stories get bigger there feeling alright They’ll be making some noise on the town tonight Chorus Everyone round us is covered in green The drunk in the front is getting fighting mean Cathy O’Riley is dancing a jig Seamus Fitzpatrick is being a pig Chorus Our friends from Carp are throwing back shooters Dianne O’Malley just showed us her hooters The girls in the front are signing along Brown Eyed girl is their favorite song Chorus
Far Atlantic Shore Written by: Jeff Sheridan, Heather Sheridan
Chorus And it’s onward lads we go To the far Atlantic shore Were I’ve loved a thousand woman And I’ll love a thousand more If the devil should call my name Before I reach the end All the lying, drinking and stealing Well, I’ll do it over again I’ve walked among the Gallows And I’ve cheated the bloody rope I’ve sailed the seas with scurvy dogs With hearts as black as coal A priest did come to me And forgave me of my sins Well I sailed into the nearest port And started over again Chorus I was banished from my Homeland With a price upon my head I tangled with a noble lord Who did wish that I was dead So I sailed into the open sea All fearing for my life Well don’t ever let a noble lord Catch ya with his wife Chorus It’s the pirates life for me Or so I’ve often said I’ll find myself home sweet home For to lie in a widows bed Well, If I should come to meet my end On the far Atlantic shore Raise a glass toast the past And think of me no more Chorus
Lost at Sea Written by: Jeff Sheridan, Andy Reid
I’ve not seen dry land for a week since I’ve been out on this boat Your words are running through my mind you want a family and a home but I’ve been a Sailor all my life and it’s the only thing I know I’ll be back soon, I don’t know when were the last few words I spoke I’ve not seen dry land for two weeks and now the distance soothes my soul A life with you is what I want but the sea it is my home I’m heading to the highlands where the mountains meet the sea I’ll be back soon, I don’t know when so please don’t wait for me After 3 long weeks out on this boat I was caught in a Northern Gail Slashed and gashed by the hounds of hell, my spirit shall not fail For I’ve stared as a sinner in the face of death and it shall not falter me I’ve broken the shackles of life it self and my spirit is set free After 4 longs weeks out on this boat the horizon calls to me like a sleeper who’s awoken from a dream, was blind but now I see My future it arrives with each crashing wave as it rolls right over me I won’t be back for I was lost not found, oh please don’t wait for me I’ll be back soon, I don’t know when were the last few words I spoke(x3)
My First Day at Sea Written by: Jeff Sheridan, Andy Reid
I signed on board a sailing ship and my first day at sea 47 virgins came running after me I did not run, I did not fight, I did not make a sound But 47 virgins just might put me in the ground Heave away, Heave away, Heave away, Heave away 47 virgins just might put me in the ground My first day on a sailing ship I rolled right out of bed Took a shot of the morning grog which went straight to my head I could not walk, I could not talk, I could not make a sound I’m afraid that morning grog might put me in the ground Heave away, heave away, heave away, heave away I’m afraid that morning grog might put me in the ground I signed on board a sailing ship and my first day at sea I saw those rolling ocean waves rolling over me I did not cry, I did not hide, I did not run away But I’m afraid those ocean waves might carry me away Heave away, heave away, heave away, heave away I’m afraid those ocean waves might carry me away My first day on a sailing ship the captain wish me dead He nearly made me walk the plank for I stole his wooden leg I whittled down that piece of wood to help me pass the time For carving up that wooden leg I’m guilty of the crime Heave away, Heave away, Heave away, Heave away For carving up that wooden leg I’m guilty of the crime
No Bars Too Far Written by: Jeff Sheridan, Andy Reid
Chorus No bars to far, that’s what I’m saying No bars to far, that’s what I’m told No bars to far, can you hear what I’m singing Lets all go down to the watering hole After a long day of working in the wheat fields From the crack of dawn until the setting sun Hitch up the wagons, call in the workman We’ll ride into to town and crack a cold one Chorus Met me cousin Jimmy, hadn’t seen him in ages Seems we never have time, always on the run Snuck to the pub, left a sign on the door Don’t hold your breathe but we’ll be back soon Chorus The lads are coming home for another long weekend Plans are being made for a night on the crawl Stories well rehearsed for we all need a wing man Tonight its all for one and one for all Chorus
Northern Stars Written by: Jeff Sheridan, Andy Reid, Rob Pittaro
We were a band of gypsy dreamers, couldn’t be fenced in Not knowing were we are going, never caring were we have been I see a thousand miles of freedom and I ain’t looking back A warm summer breeze in my hair, I feel the sunlight on my back Me and my northern stars, just me and my northern stars Those summer nights down by the lake we were princes, kings and fools A lifetime of dreams unfulfilled, we were making our own rules A canvass is unfolding with a thousand points of light I’ve driven down that open road to be on this stage tonight Me and my Northern Stars, just me and my Northern Stars Me and my Northern Stars, Instrumental V’s still plays his guitar by the crackling fires light Sweet Caroline and Bobby Mcgee go drifting through the night Sitting on the boat dock as the waves come lapping in Time stood still with every breath you took when you were in my arms Me and my Northern Stars just me and my Northern Stars Under those northern summer stars all your dreams they can come true I‘ll wish upon a shooting star to bring me back to you A canvass is unfolding with a thousand points of light I’ve driven down that open road to be on this stage tonight Me and my Northern Stars, just me and my Northern Stars Me and my Northern Stars, just me and my Northern Stars
Poor Boy Written by: Jeff Sheridan, Rob Pittaro
Your father forbid me to ask for your hand To steal you away to some foreign land He dreams of a dowry of diamonds or pearls To give you away to a lord or an earl Chorus I promise you soon, I’ll write you a letter I won’t be a poor boy no more, I won’t be a poor boy no more The Emerald she sails at first morning light I’ll sail seven seas for the rest of my life I fear my love you may not see me again I can not return a poor broken man Chorus When I close my eyes all I see is your face You give me strength to get out of this place When my fortune I find I’ll return to your land On bended knee I’ll ask for your hand Chorus We’ve sailed deadly seas in search of our plunder I have nothing to show but scurvy and hunger I’ve cursed my dreams and lovers beliefs To leave this world behind would be a welcome relief Chorus The captain calling, there’s bounty for all The winds in our sails all hands your stations Chorus
Run Around With Me Written by: Jeff Sheridan, Andy Reid
Chorus: Run around ye bonnie lass, run around with me Down the dark and cobble streets, where all the lovers meet Run around ye bonnie lass, run around with me I may not be good for you but you’ll be good for me Your father says you’re at the grocers when ever I come to call Your mother hangs her head and sighs, with out a word at all Run with me ye bonnie lass into this summers night If you’ve never done anything wrong, can you ever do anything right Chorus My father was a sailor and when he decided to settle down He was a loving committed family man with one in every town Well I may be the type of lad your mother warned about Cause many a mother would lock up her daughter when I come strolling out Chorus Find a man of higher standard your father did implore I’d gladly raise my standard if you’d only lower yours I could speak of our tomorrows in a loving kindly way But we’ll never have tomorrow if we haven’t got today Chorus
She’s Looking At Me Written by: Jeff Sheridan, Andy Reid
I strolled down to the harbour, and a bonnie lass did I see Her hair was long and wavy and gate it was care free My laddie he had caught her eye, but before she turned away I realized I stood behind and thought, HEY, she’s looking at me Chorus That brown haired, wholesome bonnie lass slipped on out of sight How wonderful my life would be if she would be my wife I’ll chase her round all through the town to come away with me For I must have that bonnie lass for to sit upon my knee Chorus Found her at the boardwalk fair and thought I’d win her hand I’ll perform a million feets of strength for a chance to be her man I tried like hell to ring that bell as I lost near one weeks pay My brown haired, wholesome bonnie lass had shyly slipped away Chorus The lads they took me to the pub to soothe my broken heart They told me a dram of the finest rum would be the perfect start I spoke of how it will hurt me so to never hold her near When through the door like fortunes hand she did reappear Chorus Alexander Keith behind me I stumbled to the door I gently led her by the hand onto the old dance floor I showed her every move I knew like a drunken Fred Estair All for a chance to gaze upon her wavy nut brown hair Chorus Early the next morning with the fog still in my head I had visions her nut brown hair as I lay upon my bed Rising from my slumber, when startled I did see That maiden with the nut brown hair was lying next to me Chorus
The Boys Of The Railway Town Written by: Jeff Sheridan, Andy Reid
Chorus They’re drinking up your whiskey They’ll lay your women down Head the words I tell you of the boys from the railway town They don’t need an invitation Or any excuse at all Head the words I tell When the boys are on the crawl They say the girls of London town Are fun to kiss and hold They’ll even keep you warm when the winter nights grow cold If the railway boys should come to call I’ll tell you all be warned They’ll love you well all through the night But leave you in the morn Chorus The Windsor girls or so I’ve heard They say are very nice I’ve even been known to kiss a few At least once or twice The railway boys they came to town for higher education Running around, drinking em down Were the course they were taking Chorus The railway boys don’t mean no harm And if it’s fun you seek You’ll find them down at PJ’s pub Once or twice a week Crankin up the fiddle Jigging on the floor When the town is closing down They’ll be hollering for more Chorus
Tippin’ The Jar Written by: Jeff Sheridan, Rob Pittaro
Another Friday on the highway And the beer is getting cold The car she barely makes it For she pulls a heavy load Out of the car, into the bar It’s time to settle in Another crowd gathers round It’s drinking time again Chorus We’re tippin’ the jar – Raise ‘em up We’re tippin the jar again We’re tippin the jar- Raise ‘em up We’re tippin the jar again There will be hell to pay in the morning But we’ll be hear to the end We’re tippin the jar boys We’re tippin the jar again Their filling up the glasses The voices getting loud Their coming into to PJ’s For a night out on the town The end of the night Their feeling alright A voice says loud and clear You don’t have to go home but you can’t stay hear Chorus The girls are on the dance floor Now every lad in sight Is drinking up the courage To prove he’s mister right We’re playing their song Their singing along It’s drinking time my friends Hoist your glasses up in the air For another sociable again Chorus When their clearing off the tables And the bar is closing down We’re scrapping up the change To buy our final round There’s a drunken band That can hardly stand As the lights are coming on You can hear the midnight choir yelling One more song Chorus
Where Were You Written by: Jeff Sheridan, Rob Pittaro
Life’s a bed of Roses All that glitters isn’t gold Good things come to those who wait Or so I’m often told I was tried and hung in the Dublin streets For crimes I don’t regret If you think I’ve been a shameless sinner You ain’t seen nothing yet Chorus Where were you, when I needed you Sweet Molly Malone Where were you when I was standing In this world all alone When the levy broke As the flood rushed in I sent you to higher ground In the darkness I reached out for you You where silent watching me drowned Don’t we make the perfect couple A sinner and a saint You love me despite the man that I am But it’s you who’s causing my pain I crawled out of the gutter Broken on bended knee To beg for scraps from your table But you’d barley notice me Chorus I’ve got mates to share a pint with me Women to share my bed The lord to show me forgiveness And you to mess with my head Chorus
Woolley Took An 8 Ball Written by: Jeff Sheridan, Rob Pittaro
Let me tell you all a story about a man who once stood tall We met down at the Brunswick for a game of old 8 ball Now Woolley says to Henry I’ll play you for a beer Well that my friends was the beginning of the end And a life long souvenir Chorus Woolley took an 8 ball and it split his drunken head All the men they gathered round to see if he was dead Well I’ve never afraid of trouble in my life But we all drew straws to see which poor beggar told his wife Well Henry is a pool shark and he’ll beat you fair and square But if he can’t accomplish that he’ll launch one in the air Now Woolley heard the beer wench call and when he turned around Henry let fly the old 8 Ball that took him to the ground Chorus We all removed our caps and said a prayer for a fallen mate We would love to stay and mourn some more but it was getting late Sure it is an awful burden to see your comrade fall But if we did hurry we just might make the Huddle for last call Chorus Well Woolley took an 8 ball it split his drunken head All the men they gathered round to see if he was dead Oh what a joy what shear delight as he rose to his feet But the barmen said he had enough and threw us in the street
