Jeff was born into an Irish Canadian family. Grandparents, Jim and Ann Sheridan moved to Canada looking for a better life in a land of jobs and prosperity. Although, they had left Ireland (County Cavan) behind they brought with them many of the traditions and music of their homeland. In this large Irish Canadian family it was not uncommon to join with friends in a sing along or spend family gatherings listening to lively Irish folk music.
Some of Jeff’s fondest memories are of growing up listening to local folk band “The Leprechauns”. The Leprechauns comprised of both Sheridan family and friends can still be found performing Irish drinking songs in the St Thomas area today. As Jeff was born so close to St Patrick’s Day he soon found it made a great forum for a birthday/St Patrick’s day party. Jeff and big brother Chris found themselves lead singers in the late night chorus band (AKA “Midnight Choir”) at the University of Windsor and Irish pubs throughout southern Ontario.
After accepting and invitation to join the Leprechauns during a St Patrick’s Day performance the Sheridan brothers were hooked. Jeff has enthusiastically performed any role needed of him within “The Sheridan Band” for over 6 years and running. This self taught musician looks forward to each and every opportunity to perform the music he loves for any audience whether two or two thousand.
